Spencer dropped in for a stay at the Bungalow and what a guest he was. This gorgeous beast is a long haired Akita and one of the sweetest animals you would ever meet. We look forward to seeing him again soon. Thanks for stopping by, Spencer.

OUR NEWEST RESTAURANT
EL DORADO

Thanks to Steve and Jose for gambling on Mars Hill to open their new restaurant, The El Dorado, Latin Grill. It is fabulous and has been a smashing success. It is a yummy fusion of flavors from south of the border, influenced by Jose's Colombian background. So, here's to you boys...nice to have you in town.
FRENCH BROAD FRIDAYS IN MARSHALL

Second Friday in every month the artisan's and business community of Marshall is throwing a party. All stores and restaurants are open and after hours a dance at the high school commences. Now for those of you that have been to Marshall will note that the Renaissance is happening slowly but surely. This is a very art minded community and the changes are important but coming slowly. You won't find a more fun group of people to share your evening with. And just think you can say one day "I KNEW MARSHALL WHEN" .

MARTHA FLEES STAYCATIONS
Here's the story. Business was coming in slowly .....the fireflies weren't even showing up in promised numbers...we were having a heat wave and too much talk on TV about gas prices and encouraging folks to take a STAYCATION. Oh please...that just means more OPRAH, The VIEW and LAW and ORDER reruns.
Friends of mine had planned a cruise months ago and made the mistake of sending me their itinerary. I looked at my calendar and it seemed possible. So, I took action and within 36 hours walked right up to them and knocked their socks off. (Moral of this story ...don't send Martha your itinerary).

Yep, I pulled it off, boarded their cruise to Alaska and had 7 blissful days of being waited on, eating too many calories and luxuriating in nothingness.

Gary stayed home and
took care of everything for me and I did the same for him while he went to Arromont to teach a class alongside his buddy Michael Cullen.....a phenomenal furniture maker from Marin County.
OH YEA...speaking of Gary...my barefoot beau is turning 60 July 18. So, don't forget to get him good when we see you this month.
So. we are both home. The phone is ringing. The house is full and it's back to normal at Ponder Cove. So, come on up to our mountain...it's a great place to take your next STAYCATION.
See you soon. xxoo
